A study published last year discovered a direct correlation between fast-paced music and athletic performance. Apparently, the speed of the music (measured by bpm) influences the pace that you run. For instance, if you run a 5:50/km or a 9:23/mile (my goal pace for the marathon) you should listen to songs that are 158 bpm such as Blink-182’s “What’s My Age Again” and so forth.
Now I only half believe this because c’mon, there is no music that is fast enough to make me run a 4 min mile no matter how hard I wish for that to happen! But I’m totally a music person and I cannot run without it so I did what any sane runner does while tapering… I made myself a new AWESOME marathon playlist and now I’m going to make you suffer through reading the entire 35 song, 126 minute* list….<insert evil laugh>

Question: What songs are on your workout/running playlist?
*I am well aware that it will take me longer than 2 hours and 6 min to complete the marathon so my plan is to listen to the playlist on repeat. I sincerely hope that I don’t have to listen to this a third time.
